The Emyrion Fantasy Society is an up-and-coming new Live Action Role Playing game founded and developed by brother and sister Blayke and Maeve Curtis.

Emyrion is a sprawling, dynamic game setting designed for Live-Action Role Play (LARP). It is a realm of untamed landscapes, ancient mysteries, and the constant pull of adventure. Players step into the shoes of adventurers, rulers, rogues, or wanderers, each shaping and being shaped by the world around them. Whether seeking glory, uncovering ancient truths, or simply surviving the Blightveil, your actions will ripple across the land, altering its future.

The Land

Exploring Emyrion’s Territories

Emyrion’s geography is vast and varied, offering endless opportunities for adventure, intrigue, and discovery. Each territory is alive with its own cultures, histories, and mysteries, ready to shape and be shaped by your journey. Your adventures might take you to:

  • The Hearthlands, where nomadic orc clans and halfling communities thrive amidst rolling golden grasslands and boundless skies.

  • The Rhalcadias, a towering mountain range filled with dwarven fortresses, hidden mines, and ancient dangers waiting to be unearthed.

  • Sylvar Hollow, a dense, sprawling forest teeming with elven enclaves, Beastkin guardians, and magickal secrets woven into the very trees.

  • The Gilded Coast, a bustling hub of trade and intrigue along the warm southern shores, where humans, goblins, and opportunistic traders weave tales of fortune and betrayal.

The Planes

Emyrion is a world touched by two other planes of existence:

  • Lorhalan, the Celestial Plane: The radiant home of the Old Gods, departed souls, and pure magick. Access to this plane is rare but possible, offering quests tied to divine favor, powerful relics, and cryptic guidance.

  • The Umbral Veil: A shadowed, dangerous plane that mirrors the Material Plane (called Embrithal). The Veil is the source of the Blightveil and the home of corrupted spirits and twisted landscapes. Exploring its mysteries is perilous but may hold the key to saving Emyrion.

The Central Conflict: The Blightveil

Every year, as summer wanes into autumn, the Blightveil descends. For seven days, corrupted aether weakens the veil between planes, unleashing Blighted creatures and undead spirits upon the Material Plane. The Blightwatch, a collection of Warriors and Mages from every corner of the Realm, takes up arms to defend the land. During the Blightwatch, players can join other Chapters from around the country, face Blighted threats, and unravel the mystery of why the Blightveil occurs.

Player Roles

  1. The Adventurers (That’s You!): Seek treasure, power, or knowledge by exploring the untamed corners of Emyrion.

  2. Council of Balusters: Elected Leaders of Each Chapter of EFS, representing all the Adventurers of Emyrion.

  3. The Archons (The Board of Directors): The elected officials of the Emyrion Fantasy Society

  4. Chapters: The self-governing local EFS clubs made by you! A Realm? A City? A Tribe?

  5. Companies: National groups of likeminded individuals. Mercenaries? An Order of Knights? A Circle of Magi?

  6. Guilds: Organizations dedicated to various arts, sciences, and crafting related to EFS.

Themes of Play

  • Adventure and Discovery: Unearth ancient ruins, decipher forgotten Oranthil texts, or track the Great Beasts that roam the land.

  • Conflict and Unity: Form alliances—or rivalries—between companies and individuals. The Seasonal Conclave in Calenhart offers a chance to influence the future of Emyrion.

  • Mystery and Danger: Investigate the Umbral Veil, uncover the true cause of the Blightveil, and delve into the shadowy realms where few dare tread.

Costuming and Immersion

  • Costumes: Players are encouraged to embody their characters with detailed costumes reflecting their race, region, or company. Orcs might wear rugged leather and bone, elves flowing robes of greens and silvers, while humans display the diversity of their trade and cultures.

  • Props and Sets: The game setting includes wild forests, sprawling plains, and haunting shadowlands crafted through natural environments and collective imagination.

  • Interactivity: Battles, gatherings, community building, and council debates are woven into the narrative, allowing every player to leave their mark on the world.

Emyrion is inspired by the decade of experience with other games such as Dagorhir, Belegarth, and Amtgard; as well as a love for TTRPGs and game design.

Emyrion aims to be an immersive experience with role playing, simulated combat, a magick system, and roles for members to play!
